If you are able to travel to Forest Grove and look for housing in person, guest rooms on-campus are available at nominal rates. Contact the Pacific Information Center at 503-352-3174 for availability/rate information.

You may qualify for low income housing if your income as a student will be 80% lower than the area median. Both couples and single individuals may apply. Contact Washington County Housing Authority 503-846-4776 for specific information.

Animals will narrow apartment/house rental possibilities and most landlord who will allow pets will require a fairly substantial pet deposit.

Consider commute time to clinical rotations before choosing housing and/or transportation options. If possible travel the route, before signing a lease agreement, so you know the condition of the roads, time involved and traffic issues to all points of destination.

Commute time from Portland to Forest Grove is approximately 30-45 minutes, so don't be afraid to investigate housing there. Keep in mind that rental rates tend to be higher in the Portland area.

There are more job opportunities in the Beaverton/Portland area for spouses and/domestic partners this may be an important factor in choosing a location.

Apartments near the Hillsboro Airport may be in direct flight patterns and air traffic noise day and night can be disruptive.

Utilize Mapquest to assist you in pinpointing the exact location of housing you may be considering. If possible, connect with current students already living in the area. Your professional program may be able to assist you with this.
